B&B HOTEL Hasselt

I wouldn’t recommend staying here because the service was poor. I arrived late, around 11:30pm, and had to leave at 7:15am. All I needed was a bed, toilet, and bath. A few minutes into my quick shower that morning, I realized there was no soap. I checked the hand soap too, but there wasn’t any, so I finished washing with water. On my way out I told the front desk, and got a lecture about what I should have done differently: apparently I should’ve called them. Sure, I could’ve dried off, called at 6:45 in the morning, and waited for soap so I could take a second shower, but I didn’t have time. Instead, they turned it into something I’d done wrong. No discount, nothing. And if the hotel replies that I should spend 15 minutes finding and filling out an online complaint form, no. The front desk should have handled it. This two-minute post is the last of my time you’re getting!

The building is lovely and clearly well cared for, and the staff were friendly. We had a really good weekend here, with a spacious room and a great breakfast. It’s close to everything and works well for families.

The location is good, but the room felt poorly maintained. The mattress and towels seemed about 20 years old. There’s no air conditioning, and the windows open onto a courtyard where guests smoke, so secondhand smoke came into the room and made it very uncomfortable.

We meant to stay for one night and wound up booking a second. The hotel and Hasselt both won us over. Our room was roomy, well equipped, and had a modern layout, plus the air conditioning was appreciated. The hotel has reasonably priced parking, but reserve ahead if you want to make sure there’s a space. It’s across from several riverside restaurants and about 200 meters from Hasselt’s old town. We liked the hotel’s simple, modern, efficient style.
