Villa Annique

The room had potential, but it just didn't come together. We were cycling and had asked in advance about secure overnight bike storage. It turned out the garden was the option, unless we were leaving at noon, in which case he could use the garage. We also wished one of the two refrigerators had been switched on so we could keep our water bottles cold. There was only one chair at the table in a double room. The two separate, movable iron beds gave the room a bit of a youth hostel look, though their mattresses were comfortable and they were easy to move. We had only an empty duvet cover and what we were told were two blankets, but they were small throws. We filled the covers with duvets ourselves after being told where to find them. Annique had expected it to be very warm, but it wasn't. The bathroom was fine, neat and well equipped, even if others might call it dated. The hallway and bathroom lights still hadn't been replaced. We were told not to let the dog poop on the sidewalk, though the rest of the garden was allowed. Still, there was dog poop in the driveway, and it wasn't from our dog. Annique was nice enough, but we didn't get the sense that she liked having strangers in her home.

The sauna and jacuzzi weren't working, supposedly because she's afraid of COVID, and the sauna has now become a storage room. There was dust on the ceiling. We weren't told the boiler would be empty after one bath, so my second bath was cold, and I was left sitting in it with long hair. We were also warned not to leave the electricity on too long in the storage room or bathroom because it might catch fire.

She blocked the call when we got in touch about the video recorder she was selling online for 100 euros. It didn't work when we tried it at home. If this is how she behaves online, I can only imagine how shamefully she'll manage her B&B. She's a scammer.

The hostess, Miss PIGGY Annick VANTORRE, was completely out of her mind, and the reception was poor. This feels more like a rendezvous house than a hotel. Her real estate agency, "House for Sale," recently went bankrupt. Watch out for this shrewd woman. And there is no "we" here, because she works ALONE.
