Lithium Bed Zen & Breakfast

The wellness area was the highlight for us: a well-equipped warm sauna for two people per session, a hot steam bath, and a large pool, plus a big terrace and lovely garden where you can cool down in the chairs afterward. The fresh breakfast was prepared on time in the spacious, cosy shared kitchen, though since it’s all ordered ahead there isn’t much flexibility, so order enough. We had a pleasant stay and would return when we’re in the area. The B&B is a modern one, about a 10-minute drive from Mechelen, and the welcome was friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with home automation that takes some explaining and might not suit everyone. We had no internet in the evenings, which also meant no digital TV. That wasn’t a big issue for us, but it was ironic given all the gadgets. Check-in and breakfast orders are handled on-site by QR code. It was a bit annoying to do everything on a phone, especially since there was no Wi-Fi at first. Ordering breakfast the night before is practical, but guests may not know yet what they’ll want, and it can lead to ordering too much or too little.

Contemporary art throughout the place gives it a great look, and the room was modern and clean. The pool and sauna were amazing, and breakfast was really tasty. The hostess was super responsive, and everything was arranged perfectly regarding Corona. Truly perfect, 10/10. Céline

There was a good range of breakfast options, and by telling them the evening before what we wanted, nothing went to waste. The room was very nice and the service excellent. I couldn’t fit in a visit to the wellness area, though it looked very inviting. There was also a wide choice of pillows, so everyone could sleep well.

The room named 'Paul' was wheelchair friendly, with an accessible shower, a raised toilet, and access to the landscaped garden. The room may feel a bit tight for wheelchair users, but I’m sure the B&B can help if you let them know. We had a fantastic, indulgent breakfast with plenty of choice, and everything was beautiful, well finished, and clean. From the welcome through the service and cleaning, it was all sublime, just Zen. I slept without my night medication, which is very unusual for me. A lot of thought has gone into this B&B. It’s the best one we’ve ever visited, and I absolutely recommend it if you’re in the area.
