Mons Dragon House

Mathias and Marc were friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make sure our bikes were safely stored overnight. The location is great, a short walk from the nice restaurants and the grand place. We stayed one night while cycle touring and loved the room’s interior design. It was very clean, with one of the most comfortable beds we’ve had so far, a month into our trip. The mattress was firm just how I like it, and the pillows and comforter were comfy. 10/10, would stay again.

A pretty cool place, handy for walking to the main square and attractions, and it could work well as a base for a few days. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests to use. I was on the top floor; the more spectacular rooms are downstairs. The bed was very comfortable, but keep every window shut, or street noise and the bin men will disturb you.

We had a great weekend in Mons, and this place was a lovely base. The main plaza is just a few minutes away on foot. All five bedrooms have double beds, so that’s not ideal for a big group of pals, but it works brilliantly for couples or people happy to share. Every room has its own theme and an ensuite bathroom, though some bathrooms are better than others. There was a little street noise, but it didn’t bother us. The kitchen is beautifully fitted out, with gorgeous matching appliances and even a coffee pod machine. There’s also a small living area with a dining table and sofa corner group.

Marc met us when we arrived in Mons and showed us to the Dragon House. We had two lovely, spacious rooms and a decent kitchen in a place full of period details and eclectic decor, sort of shabby chic. It was blissfully quiet, even though the Grand Place is just a five-minute walk away. There was plenty of room to use a laptop, the shower was good, and the stay was really convenient. Parking was on the road and free from 6PM to 9AM, I think. We got breakfast at Au Millefeuille bakery around the corner. The kitchen was well equipped enough that we could have cooked properly if we’d stayed longer.
