I got to see Gut Stangs while photographing there, rather than staying overnight, and the restoration really stood out. The old 17th-century farmhouse has kept its rustic feel while adding modern comforts. The ten double rooms are roomy, each decorated differently and with its own bathroom. The garden, sauna, and hot tub look lovely, and the quiet setting in Eynatten, surrounded by nature, makes for a peaceful atmosphere. You can also rent the whole farm for a larger group. The team were friendly and helpful, and I can imagine guests having a memorable stay. I’d love to come back and stay myself one day.
The rooms were lovely and clean, with quality furnishings. It’s a beautiful manor house.
We started the weekend thinking it would be great: the house was beautiful, and everyone had a nice room. But privacy was a real problem. We were interrupted repeatedly, people unexpectedly came into the garden, and someone even asked us to mow the lawn while we were there. At 1:00 PM on the third day, the owners came into the garden again without warning to say we were playing football too loudly. Later, we were accused of making noise at night and told we owed a €300 fine, though they showed no proof. We never saw the police that evening or night. They wouldn’t hear us out, spoke aggressively, and threatened to put us out of the house. The owner’s husband stayed on the terrace watching us. Once we finally “agreed” to pay the unjustified fine, suddenly everything was fine. It felt like a money game. Such a shame for a weekend with friends. I can’t recommend it.
