Château de Vignée

Breakfast didn't offer much variety, and the staff missed details with our orders. One order came out wrong, then a separate order was forgotten. If you're after a really standout breakfast, I'd choose Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp or the Reylof Pillows Hotel in Ghent instead. The latter gets the mix of location, quality, service, and price just right.

I've used the wellness facilities, restaurant, and venue, and each time it felt like a great experience for the soul. The place is beautiful, with a forest or walking path nearby and a "moestuin". There's nature all around, with so much peace and calm. I've tried to book a room several times, but it's always been fully booked. That says something positive about the place, right? If you value nature, quiet, quality, and the venue itself, this could be your place.

We had a deeply disappointing stay at Château de Vignée. The staff were polite and professional, and the surrounding nature is beautiful, but the rooms and conditions were nowhere near what we'd expect from a 5-star hotel. Our first room had a thin interior door connecting it to another guest's room. It was so poorly insulated that we could hear everything, including conversations and sneezing. After we raised the issue, we were moved to a tiny, cramped room. Cold air poured in all night through the balcony door, and the hotel's makeshift rubber stopper did nothing to fix it. The smoke coming from the hotel's property was overwhelming and made sleep nearly impossible. We left after one night, despite having booked four. When we raised the problem, the hotel wouldn't accept responsibility and charged us a cancellation fee for leaving early, even though the conditions were why we left. The staff's kindness couldn't make up for the poor rooms or the lack of care for guest comfort. The hotel doesn't come close to 5-star quality. The rooms are badly designed, the conditions were unacceptable, and management seemed indifferent to our experience. I'd avoid it. Notre séjour était très décevant, loin d'un hôtel 5 étoiles. Les chambres étaient mal isolées, on entendait tout des voisins, et un courant d'air froid passait par la porte du balcon. La cale n'a rien arrangé. La fumée venant de l'hôtel rendait la nuit presque impossible à dormir. Nous sommes partis plus tôt à cause de ces conditions, mais l'hôtel nous a quand même facturé une nuit supplémentaire. La magnifique nature et le personnel agréable étaient les seuls points positifs. Cet hôtel se prétend 5 étoiles mais n'offre même pas le confort d'un établissement basique. À éviter.

We walked a couple of nature trails straight from the castle gardens, then relaxed with a dip in the hotel pool. There's also a steam bath and sauna, and the whole afternoon was so pleasant and calming. The hotel is beautifully located and perfectly maintained. The staff were professional, attentive to details, and seemed to anticipate what we needed. We also had a divine three-course lunch at the hotel's restaurant, “The Lounge”. The chef came to chat with us at the end of dinner, which we really appreciated.
