The breakfast was a bright spot: good service, generous portions, and a nice atmosphere. Sara even made something special for my birthday. The other staff were lovely, though my experience with the owner was the opposite. At 6am I stepped out for a smoke and hoped to get coffee, but nobody seemed to be around. I’d accidentally left my key inside and got stuck outside in the cold for a long time in shorts and room slippers. My friend was asleep, and when I called the hotel number, the owner said he was asleep too and rudely told me to wake my friend. I checked for another way in and thankfully found Sara in the kitchen; she helped me inside and got me coffee. If you list a number, please answer in an emergency. For €170 a night, I expected someone to open the door. Sorry for disturbing your sleep. :) The location is the best thing about the place. The restaurant could have been mentioned too, especially since it had Michelin Guide certifications in the past. I wonder what happened. We were tired and ended up ordering from Takeaway.com because there was no explanation or even an invitation to try it. Finding check-in was confusing, since the front of the building looked like a restaurant. A very friendly woman gave us our badge and room key. Coming back from the Thermes meant using a narrow, muddy rear entrance, which wasn't pleasant. We got what was described as their “best” room, for €170 a night with breakfast. The bed and simple interiors were nice, but its sides were so narrow that sleeping felt claustrophobic. The room heater worked well, while the toilet heater was broken, so the toilet was very cold. The sink didn't work properly, and there were dead bugs and hairs in the bathtub. A proper vacuum would help, including around the ventilation, which surely takes less than five minutes. It would also be nice to have water bottles in the room; they can't cost that much.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel’s story was interesting. The food was homemade or local, with care for the environment.

We came just for dinner, not an overnight stay. The setting inside was nice, and the staff were welcoming and polite. The food was classy and extremely tasty. There was a small mix-up with dessert, but they sorted it out right away, quickly and enthusiastically. Definitely recommend for a nice dinner.

The food and hotel rooms both made me love this place. The cuisine felt world class, from the aperitif and starters to the main courses, with excellent taste and presentation. Thumbs up to the chef and the whole staff and crew!
