Hotel at Home

We booked two rooms for four people, but neither room was clean. One bed hadn't been made or cleaned, there was mold on the ceiling, the bathroom was dirty, and the windows looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in a year. One room would only close when locked. Getting checked in was difficult too. The service desk was empty, and after I rang the bell, an employee spoke to us from the top of the stairs, said, “Come,” then walked off, so I had to look for him. He said I owed €4 in tourist tax. Since I don't understand French and he didn't speak English, I couldn't tell whether that meant €4 per person or €4 for everyone. He was aggressive and threatening toward me. After I paid, he handed me the room keys. This is not worth a star. Avoid it at all costs.
