We got the dates wrong when we first booked, but rebooking was no problem. The place was a great find: clean, comfortable and with a well-equipped kitchen. It’s a short walk into Ypres town centre, where you’ll find the Cloth Hall, Menin Gate, shops, restaurants and a museum.

Chez Paul. Paul is a great host. The room is in a quiet residential part of Ypres, a beautiful town in Flanders, though it isn’t close to shops. It’s a spacious double bedroom with an additional single bed, a large desk and a wardrobe. The bathroom is roomy too, with a tub and shower plus various amenities. There’s a shared living room and kitchen on the ground floor, with access to the bunny rabbits’ yard. The wifi was good, and parking in front of the garage was convenient. There’s a flight of stairs, so it isn’t suitable for disabled guests.

A really nice place in western Flanders, with lots of historical references to the First World War 14-18.
