We arrived Saturday, July 10, 2021, at around 5 p.m. The brasserie was closed, and nobody answered when we rang. The phone number posted went straight to voicemail. Just as we were about to leave after 15 minutes, someone knocked on the window. The owners were unusually absent, and we were handed the key. There were dust webs all over the toilet, the TV didn’t work, and the kettle was filthy. The coffee machine still had used pods from previous guests. After 15 minutes, there was still no hot water in the bathroom, which was very dirty and mouldy, so we wouldn’t shower there. Breakfast was the only good thing. We were glad we didn’t have to pay for it ourselves, since we used a VivaBox voucher. Absolutely not recommended.

During the heatwave at the end of last July, we spent two days cycling and stayed at B&B 14-18. They welcomed us warmly and let us store our bikes safely on the veranda. The room was clean and pleasantly cool, and we were grateful for the fan. After a long, hot ride, the ribs in the brasserie next door were delicious. Breakfast the next morning was generous, and the service was friendly throughout. Glad we found this lovely B&B.

We came on Friday, September 3, 2021, with a Vivabox voucher for one night for two. On arrival, the place was visibly unclean: dirty windows, stained curtains, dust and dried leaves by the entrance, and empty chip bags that looked like they’d been there for days. The plastic flowers in the pots had faded in the sun. No one was there, so we called the number to check in. Someone came after a short while and took us up a narrow, very dirty staircase. The room was just as bad. The sheets were rumpled, and we wondered if they’d already been slept in. There were two regular towels but just one bath towel on the bed, along with wine and two cloudy, dirty glasses that looked like they’d been there since before coronavirus. No TV, radio or Wi-Fi. There was instant coffee and a kettle, but no power outlets. We found cobwebs in a corner, lots of dust under the bed and on the windowsill, and dead flies in the lampshade. A breakfast table was set in the room with two more dirty, cloudy glasses. The shower screen was greasy, cloudy and very dirty, with dried splashes. The sink drain was broken, and the toilet was filthy. At 8 a.m. someone knocked and brought breakfast: fruit juice, two white rolls, two brown rolls, two chocolate biscuits, two croissants, packaged jam, chocolate spread and two jars of butter. There were also two yogurts covered in plastic wrap, each with one strawberry slice and one banana slice. Water had collected on top, so they weren’t tasty. No egg or fresh fruit was offered. After drinking the juice, we noticed smudged stains inside the bottle. We had to pay extra for breakfast, which was expensive for what we got. When we paid, the owner, who we think was Francois, didn’t ask whether everything was okay, though it certainly wasn’t. I wanted to mention the lack of cleanliness but didn’t get the chance. We gave one star, and even that was half a star too many.

The room wasn’t very clean, and the bathroom really needs an update. The coffee maker, kettle and glasses were dirty, there was urine residue in the toilet, and the TV didn’t work. The entrance was dirty too, with no proper reception.

It was a large, furnished room, but the TV and Wi-Fi didn’t work. The shower holder, toilet roll holder and faucet were broken, and the toilet brush was really dirty. The sheets were crumpled, and there were cobwebs and dirty glasses. My son checked me in and pointed out the problems. I got an apology, but nothing more. Nobody was available at checkout. Not recommended.
