Hotel Butler

This family-run hotel has a lovely feel. The owners work there themselves and were kind and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, everything was clean, and the heating worked really well. Breakfast was delicious, and parking was free. The setting is beautiful, with Brugge only 10 minutes away. I really enjoyed staying here and would happily return. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was the highlight: a proper continental spread with fresh fruit, juices, pastries, lots of breads, cheese and even desserts. It was absolutely delicious. I stayed one night at Hotel Butler with my two boys during our cycling week through Belgium and the Netherlands, stopping just outside Brugge. The room was spacious and comfortable, with coffee-making facilities and a small minibar you could use for a charge, just what we needed for a relaxing break. The lovely small hotel is run by a friendly, welcoming couple and is well placed for exploring the countryside and visiting Brugge. Thanks for the warm hospitality, we really enjoyed our stay!

The breakfast alone was worth booking, with loads of cheeses, cold cuts, fruit and desserts, better than what I’ve had in restaurants. The hotel is gorgeous and stylish, and Bruges’ historic centre is about 20 minutes away by public transport. Isobelle and her husband made Christmas feel magical and homely. My basement room beside the stairs was cool and noisy during breakfast in the morning, though I could have asked Isobelle to move me and it wouldn’t have been a problem. I was more comfortable here than in most five-star hotels, so I’m surprised it only has a three-star rating.

The only downside for us was having a bathtub instead of a shower. Otherwise, the family running the hotel were lovely, the buffet breakfast was amazing, and the beds were comfortable in spacious rooms with great views. It’s around a 12-14 minute drive from downtown Bruges. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
