Hotel Gergana - Ultra All Inclusive

The food changed from day to day and was excellent, and the service was just as good. The entertainment team put on contests and activities that added fun to the stay. I also wish there had been a game room guests could use whenever they liked, instead of only during scheduled contests. Our room experience was much rougher. The rooms felt old and poorly kept, and we even found cockroaches in one. The balcony door wouldn't shut properly, and parts of the bathroom ceiling weren't secured. There was also an evening noise from the air conditioning system, though I'm not sure exactly where it came from, that made it hard to unwind. We stayed on the Ultra All Inclusive plan at Hotel Gergana. The food and service were lovely, but the room condition needs work.

The beach, grounds, rooms and views were all very good, and reception service was good too. Some of the other staff, especially at the poolside snack bar, seemed annoyed when we went over. We spent 10 days here. The restaurant food was okay. Flies kept gathering around the dessert area, and we would have liked them to keep it cooler.

We had a great vacation. The restaurant served very good food, with something different each day, and the people there were friendly and polite. It’s a nice hotel by a lovely beach, in quiet surroundings, with plenty of things to do within a reasonable distance.

The food was mediocre, and some of the meat was undercooked. I’ve spent several holidays in Bulgaria over the years and have never been so disappointed by a hotel. We had to move rooms twice. The first was dirty and had cockroaches. In the second, the air conditioner leaked into the room. Maintenance tried to fix it, but it started leaking again the next day. The circuit breakers also began making a loud, alarming sound that seemed to signal a safety problem. Only the third room, which had been renovated and looked out to sea, came close to the standard I’d expect from a four-star place. For the price, this property didn’t feel like a genuine four-star hotel.
