Hotel Kaliakra Beach - Ultra All Inclusive

The food was amazing, easily some of the best I've had at an all-inclusive hotel. The hotel's strongest advantage, though, is that it's right beside the beach. The room felt old and needs updating. The curtains were poorly attached, and there were signs of wear everywhere, which didn't seem four-star. Standard rooms have a king bed and a single, so they can fit three people, but I was alone and still didn't feel there was much space. It was okay for one person, might already feel cramped for two, and I doubt three would have enough room. The layout was awkward too: only two badly placed outlets, and the TV shared a table with the coffee things and phone, right beside the balcony entrance. You have to be careful opening that door or the TV could fall. I still don't understand why there's an emergency button in the middle of the shower. Staff were the weakest part. At check-in, the man at reception didn't say hello or welcome, just “Passeport !” and “Voucher !” in an unfriendly tone. He made me feel like I was bothering him. Reception staff generally didn't smile or greet people, mostly sat at their computers, and you could mainly see their hair from the lobby. The Asian restaurant staff were the only ones who smiled and greeted guests, though they cleared tables a bit too quickly. There are a lot of things this hotel needs to improve.

We stayed at Kaliakra Beach again in May 2025, and everything was good: a clean, pleasant Superior room with a great view, a lovely location right on the Black Sea, tasty food and drinks at the bar, and friendly staff. Special thanks to housekeeper Adriana, who sorted out a small problem quickly and with real energy. We returned in September 2025, and it was just as good as our earlier stays. This time we got to see the evening shows. The hotel's animation team impressed us with some amazing performances, and an outside group put on an excellent variety show. Even without the sunbeds and umbrellas at the end of the season, the beaches were clean. The municipality also used a special machine to collect small litter such as cigarette ends. Most hotel staff speak German and English.

We had a wonderful holiday. The room was spacious, and our sea-facing apartment had an amazing view. There's a lot of tasty food and many kinds of drinks, and the staff were professional and friendly. The hotel also has swimming pools and is very close to the beach.

The hotel itself is good, but we had an upsetting security issue and were extremely disappointed by how it was handled. On our first morning, we told the cleaning staff not to clean our room. We were out all day, and when we returned there was an item in the room that wasn't ours, even though the room itself hadn't been cleaned. Saying housekeeping simply forgot it is a terrible excuse. How are we meant to feel safe if people can enter rooms and leave things there? We reported what happened and got no understanding from reception. The cleaning staff were the only ones who tried to work out what had happened, even though they weren't to blame. Reception deserves strong criticism. The first woman who took our complaint was good, but she wasn't on shift when we went back for an update.
