We paid 180 leva upfront for second-zone parking because it was close to the hotel. Still, the barrier often failed to read our registration, and guards demanded a ticket and payment. I explained in English and Russian that we had paid, sometimes with swear words, before they let us through. Reception seemed baffled by the issue: the system read the letter O in the registration as the number 0. We drove to Varna on July 4 and ran into this several times, despite reporting it. We were a family of four at Sandy Beach Hotel from July 2 to 11, 2025. At the resort entrance, a guard called the manager and told us two rooms would cost 260 leva a day, or 1,250 euros for nine nights with breakfast and pool access. I agreed, and the guard drove us to the hotel. At reception, the bald receptionist said the 1,250 euros covered two rooms but no pool. I reminded him what the manager had agreed to, he called the manager, and the pool was included. When I tried to pay, the receptionist said payment was due only when we left. I asked again on July 5 and July 8 because I didn't want to pay at departure, but got the same answer. I started wondering if they wanted to inspect the rooms before charging us. At 9 a.m. on July 11, I went to settle the bill. The receptionist now said 260 leva was for one room. I said we'd agreed on that amount for both rooms. He asked for an email or the manager's number, but the call had been made from the guard's phone, so I had no record of who I spoke to. We were charged 2,500 euros, as though it were a five-star all-inclusive with a heated pool. Mistakes happen, but I absolutely don't recommend this pseudo-Sandy Beach Hotel. Be warned, it felt like an organized group.

The view is lovely, the hotel is beside the beach, the staff are pleasant and the food was good. But the dishes marked as clean often still had food from the previous person on them, and the cutlery felt sticky from poor rinsing. I raised it with the managers every day. They usually admitted there was a problem, but it wasn't fixed during our stay.

The worst part for me was watching some guests pile their tables high with food they couldn't possibly finish. So much of it went to waste, and it was disgusting to see. With that kind of guest behavior, I can understand why the hotel can't run a Michelin-star restaurant. Otherwise, it's a nice hotel, very close to the beach, with clean, air-conditioned rooms.

The beach is sandy and has plenty of free umbrellas and loungers. There were lots of jellyfish in the sea, though, and the shore was covered in seaweed until it was cleared after two or three days. The area around the pool was dirty. My room wasn't too bad, but I didn't like the food or drinks. Also, don't expect anyone to clean your room during your stay. It was my first time in Bulgaria, and I'm not sure I'll return. I'd suggest choosing another hotel.

The restaurant could make or break the stay. The food was just acceptable for me, especially compared with what I'm used to in Sofia, and after a few days there wasn't much variety. Fruit was generally excellent, but the desserts weren't memorable. The balcony BBQ sent smoke everywhere, even indoors. The rooms are clean, you can move around with a stroller easily, and the beach is practically in front of the hotel. If you're looking for all-inclusive, it could work for you.
