Breakfast was included, and the food was nice and tasty, but the hotel had no dinner options. Finding ordinary restaurants in Balchik was difficult too, since most seemed high-end. The room itself was clean and fine, but nothing special: the bed was uncomfortably firm, the AC didn't get very cold, shower water was weak, and amenities were sparse, with no kettle or coffee supplies. A friendly cleaning lady seemed not to speak English or Bulgarian, perhaps because she wasn't local. I picked the hotel for its location near the beach and its reasonable, mid-range price. It has no elevator, which made the third-floor room inconvenient, and it felt more like a guesthouse. Reception service was okay but not very informative. A tall young woman working reception another day refused to speak English, so my Bulgarian-speaking partner handled everything. Paying by debit card was convenient. The woman managing breakfast was kind at first, then scolded me in Bulgarian in front of other guests for taking a lot of ham for my partner and me. She accused me of planning to feed it to cats, though there weren't any cats around, and then said cats were pests. I was a paying customer, not someone eating for free. How dare she say that?

It's very close to the small beach and markets, but the room wasn't clean. Our fridge was full of mold, and the cleaning lady wiped it with a basic cloth. It still looked dirty and smelled sooo bad. We also saw a bug in the room. The cleaner made a lot of noise, constantly knocking things around.

For the price, the quality was good. The rooms were clean and tidy, with air conditioning in each one, and some have a lovely sea view. It's very close to Nomad Beach. A pleasant stay.

I'm giving it one star because zero wasn't an option. This was the worst stay we've ever had. The staff were rude and unfriendly, and the service was awful. We were told when booking, both verbally and in writing, that parking was free, but that wasn't true. The receptionist told all the guests to use paid parking wherever they wanted. Cleanliness was only the bare minimum. I'd never recommend this hotel to anyone.

No elevator, and the place was noisy with no sound insulation. The bathroom drain smelled, there was no hot water in the morning, and neither the toilet door nor the balcony doors could even be closed. There are books to read, though, and you can ask for a hairdryer.
