Our apartment had a little balcony, handy for airing out smelly clothes after a long day skiing. The staff were friendly and fixed a broken shower part the same day. Breakfast was included as a buffet, there’s a sauna, and the hotel is right opposite the Gondola. It does look a bit old, but I’d definitely book it again.

The owners were so welcoming and attentive to every request. We asked where to find a particular wine, and they went out and bought it for us the next day. Breakfast was nice, and the rooms were well kept. Being so close to the gondola is a big plus when you’re walking in ski gear. We’ll definitely return, highly recommended.

We’d only planned to stay two nights in the second week of August, but ended up staying five and are planning to come back and stay longer. The Lady manager was very polite and helpful. We’d booked a studio and asked for a mountain view; to give us the best view, they upgraded us to a fantastic apartment at the same price, with a great balcony and windows all around. The view, location, cleanliness, apartment size and price were all superb. The wi fi was problematic, but the service overall was exceptional enough that I’m still giving it five stars.

The whole experience was awful. The shower was poor quality and flooded the bathroom within a minute. Breakfast was limited, with stale bread and watered down juice. They also changed the breakfast hours overnight without warning, so I missed it on my last day. The room was unbearably hot, with no way to adjust the temperature, even with the window open on a winter day. The worst part was getting stuck in the garage for 40 minutes on my final day. A huge truck blocked the exit while some guys unloaded animal feed into the garage. When I asked them to move it so I could leave, they said I’d have to wait until they finished unloading 100 bags weighing 50 pounds each. I went to reception, but they just shrugged and asked if I couldn’t wait 40 minutes. No one seemed to think it was a problem that I was trapped in a small underground garage, delaying my trip and leaving a friend stranded across town. The manager seemed unmoved too. So, so bad. Do yourself a favor and find another of the 100+ hotels in town.

We had plenty of room, nice beds, a kitchen and two bathrooms with a bath. Everything you need in one of Bansko’s best locations.
