The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and there are restaurants, supermarkets and the gondola nearby. There's also a cashpoint a minute away. We had a clean, warm one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen. Breakfast was limited, but enough.

Our room at Dream Aparthotel was spread over two floors, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a balcony off the kitchen, dining and living area. It was spacious, cleaned daily, and fresh towels came every couple of days. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food, plus a good coffee machine. The Gondola lift is a five to ten minute walk, with an equipment shop on the way. Good value, and I'd recommend it.

The location was great, just five minutes from the Gondola, central street and shops. Our room and bathroom were spacious, clean and so warm that we were sitting in T-shirts with -5C outside. There was just one usable elevator for the whole place, and it only held three people. Service was poor. The reception guys weren't welcoming or helpful and even accused us of lying. They left only two bath towels for three of us. When I went to reception in the late afternoon for another, they said I could get one the next day because the cleaning staff had finished. The cleaning lady was nice, so that's the only reason I'd give service two stars. There was a variety of breakfast food, but it was mediocre and tasteless. Fruit and vegetables sat out for hours drying up, and the pastries and cheese sticks were frozen. The pool was very small, with nobody supervising. Every day, kids and their parents played water polo, jumped around and splashed, even though it's meant to be a place to relax.

The hotel has what you need to get up, eat, ski, then come back tired and relax. Breakfast was pleasant, the staff were friendly and service oriented, and the rooms were spacious and well equipped with a kitchen and everything else. It was a pleasant stay that exceeded our expectations for a budget option. The gondola is about a 7-8 minute walk, closer than other similar hotels, and the main street in Bansko is just a short walk away.
