Granat Apartments

The rooms look nothing like the photos, and the heating doesn’t work properly. It also makes loud noises. When I called the hosts about an issue in my room, they yelled that it “wasn’t actually a problem” and said I shouldn’t have bothered them. They were needlessly mean and very, very rude. Parking was unnecessarily expensive too.

The kitchen was barely equipped, with almost no dishes, and the coffee machine didn’t work. The apartment was badly maintained despite its high price, and our fifth bed was basically a camp bed that wasn’t shown in any of the Booking pictures. The street was so noisy we couldn’t sleep. Check-in was over an hour late even though we arrived at the agreed time and called the owner several times. The host was rude and uncooperative about everything we asked. We had paid in advance and had no other options, so we stayed for the whole reserved period. Still, they cancelled our Booking reservation while we were there. Maybe that’s why they didn’t have so many bad reviews on Booking. Highly unrecommended!

The administrator/receptionist said he’d call the next day about moving us after we explained we hadn’t slept, but he never did. We were next to the gondola, which was handy, but traffic and people shouting at night made sleep almost impossible. The building wasn’t soundproof, so we could hear the tap in the next room every morning. The cleaning lady did a thorough job, but our room was old, with a torn carpet, a hole in one wall, and a socket that seemed to have been pulled out. The beds were uncomfortable, with springs poking through cheap, low-quality mattresses. The room we got had nothing in common with the booking site photos. We paid almost 900 EUR for seven nights, which was far too much given the condition. Probably the worst holiday I’ve had. I’ll never come back.

I’ve stayed in Bansko a few times, and this was easily the worst place. Noise in the neighborhood went on constantly, especially at night, so I couldn’t sleep at all. The bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever used. We asked the host to do something about it, but he refused and was very unpleasant. I really don’t recommend it.
