Hotel Rothmans

We had a great stay. The food was good, the hotel was clean, and the reception responded quickly. It's near the ski area, and both the rooms and staff were nice.

Our rooms were tiny, with a bed taking up about 70% of the space, a small bathroom, old furniture, no fridge, and no cabin shower or dressing area. The twin rooms we saw also didn't have a cabin shower or dressing area, just a small clothes cabinet. The photos seemed fake, photoshopped, and misleading. This is a small guest house with tiny house doors and at most 2-star quality, not the hotel it claims to be. It isn't right in front of the mountains. Getting to the ski zone is difficult without a car and GPS. The guest house sits on a narrow street with no signs leading to the ski zone. It has no parking spots either. You have to park on the street, where there are “forbiden park” signs, and risk a ticket or having the police pick up your car. I had booked two rooms for four people and paid 118 euro in advance for two rooms over two nights. My friends couldn't arrive because they had car trouble. I explained what happened and asked for a refund since we'd only be using one room, but the guests said it wasn't possible. They gave us a small room with old furniture and no balcony. We weren't satisfied and asked for a bigger room since we'd paid for two. They said everything was booked. When we asked about my friends' room, it turned out to be slightly bigger, with a balcony and a better view and position. It felt like they were trying to fool us by putting us in the smaller room, probably so they could rent our friends' room again. They offered nothing in return for our paying for two rooms and using one, not even a meal. They seemed to enjoy that my friends couldn't make it. The guests were rude, heartless, unprofessional, and inflexible. Don't pay in advance, because you can't get a refund.

A lovely spot for a stay, just perfect.

The owner was so friendly and even drove us to the places where our hikes started. We had a really good time at this lovely hotel and will definitely come back one day!
