We tried the restaurant, not the hotel, and had an excellent meal. If the hotel gets the same care and attention, I can see it being a great place to stay. Michael, the owner, works hard to give each customer equal attention and to talk about the dishes he cares so much about. He explains where the menu ideas came from and what they mean to him. We chose a few dishes, liked some of them so much that we ordered a second serving. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. It felt like a special place to eat, and I highly recommend it.

The food is amazing, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the wine is excellent. The host brings it all together with a gracious, attentive welcome. We liked the meal so much that we’ve decided to return for our next and final evening in Bansko. Truly unmissable. I’ll write up a fuller review of the dishes after that second night.

The host is a real original, and the food and atmosphere are amazing. We came across this tavern while walking through the authentic streets away from the ski centre. Try the Bombar, it’s simply delicious. For the full experience of Bulgarian hospitality, you must visit or stay here when you’re in Bansko. I only wish we’d discovered it earlier in our trip.

We stayed two nights and loved it. The location is just steps from everything important, yet quiet enough for light sleepers. Our room was beautiful and clean, and dinner at the tavern was delicious. The host is kind and very friendly. We got everything we needed and expected, plus more, and are looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely evening here with our group of 11, and it was the best meal of our trip. The tavern is cozy, with an open fire, and the owner is friendly and funny. He takes real care with his menu of traditional Bulgarian dishes, many made from family recipes. His own wine is delicious too. Would highly recommend!
