The hotel next door met our needs for a night, with a bed and shower, and everything was very clean. We’ve stayed here twice now while travelling to and from Greece. The restaurant is great, with delicious food, especially the Bulgarian specialties like game pastrami, white salted speck and deer kebab 😍. They also have a nice selection of Bulgarian wines.

We didn’t stay in the rooms; we camped up the mountain instead. But lunch-dinner in the garden in mid-September was extremely pleasant. There was a drinking water fountain, attentive staff and lovely patrons. The quiet Bulgarian music from 30-40 years ago, including Michail Belchev and Lili Ivanova, was wonderful. Everything was excellent!

The old Bulgarian setting at this restaurant is amazing. I especially loved the homemade spinach bread with different cheeses and the beans appetizer. The typical local food is extremely delicious, and both the flawless lamb and the great buffalo sausage stood out. Definitely worth a visit when you come to this historic Balkan city.

The portions are generous and the food is great. Live music was the one thing I didn’t enjoy, it was loud enough to make talking difficult. Aside from that, everything was great.

The food was delicious and came out quickly, and the washrooms were very clean. Everyone was super nice, from the owner and manager to the waitress. They were getting the restaurant ready for a big celebration, but still managed to set a table aside just for us. It’s one of my favourite places in the area.
