Plaza Hotel Burgas

The breakfast was a nice surprise. It wasn’t a buffet, you chose from a set menu, and the food was made fresh. I liked the homemade BG style french toast and grilled sandwiches, which I’d encourage you to try. The hotel sits on the pedestrian street in Burgas, about 5 mins on foot from the beach, and the room was clean and nice. There’s central AC, which I liked and which is rare in BG. The pillows were so soft I couldn’t shape them, and I woke up with a stiff neck every morning. I didn’t ask for another kind, since it’s a family hotel and I doubted they’d have any. There were no wall plugs by the bed, they were all across the room, and one didn’t work. The welcome desk lady was strange and a bit rude. Whenever I asked her something, she’d first ask WHY, as if she needed to know why I was asking before she could answer. It made me feel she was a bit dishonest. We’d say hello or good day whenever we passed, and she wouldn’t reply, just stare at us. I’m unsure what rating to give. I’d stay again, but take one star off for the rude receptionist and another for the pillows and plugs.

The food tasted delicious, but there wasn’t as much of it as you might expect.

As of May 2017, The Plaza Hotel is closed while they look for new owners.

It was quite dirty, but otherwise really nice.
