There’s a large restaurant with an outdoor area, reasonable prices and generous portions. The hotel itself still has good taste, and it seems to have been built with plenty of money, perhaps back in the communist era. These days, though, it needs maintenance. Parking is difficult. The lot is small, closed off on one side and so narrow that you have to enter and leave from the same side. If another car comes along, getting past can turn into an adventure.

A lot of what made this stay nice was the people looking after the place. Catia was my favorite, she speaks English and keeps on top of things with a firm hand. She should be the manager. Petrov at the desk was very friendly and helpful, and did what he could to sort things out quickly. The night man takes care of the plants and was always kind and patient, even when I complained at 4 a.m. He couldn't fix the issue, but I understood why. The owner was always smiling when he wasn't worried about something. The stay wasn't perfect, and there were things I could complain about, but it was still pretty nice. There are three people here who take good care of the house. Catia is the reason I gave it four stars.

You can get a feel for how Pencho Kubadinski might have stayed here, while still having modern conveniences. The rooms are neat and clean. It's the best communist-style hotel in the region, and I'd highly recommend it.

The hotel restaurant was a bad choice for dinner. The service was completely unbearable, the dishes arrived cold after a long wait, and the DJ was awful. There are much better places nearby.
