Hotel Real

We had a car emergency and needed to stay for two nights. I called reception beforehand and was quoted 250€ for two people, but they charged us 500€. When we challenged the front desk, they offered us a “discount” and said we could pay only 430€. They threatened to call the police and stop us boarding our flight. We had to catch the flight, so we paid, but the rooms and service definitely weren't worth 500€. They used our desperate situation to charge us more. Absolutely disappointing.

The rooms are spacious, with big balconies and very comfortable beds. Hygiene is 100%, there's a restaurant on site, and the food and wine are good. The location is convenient too. It feels like a home away from home, suitable for leisure or business travelers and longer stays. Simply a nice place to stay.

Breakfast costs an optional 5 euro for a set course and isn't included in the room price. In my opinion, it isn't worth the money. The hotel sits on a small street in a quiet residential area of apartment blocks, 1 km from the city center. Parking depends on availability: five places are reserved by the hotel on the street, and underground spots are available for a fee. Room 505 is spacious and well maintained, with a mini-bar, safe, flat-screen TV, couch, and a good bathroom. I'd recommend it for a short city break if you don't mind walking 10-20 minutes to downtown Plovdiv's places of interest.

Breakfast isn't included, and even if you pay for it, you'll still be disappointed. In general, though, it's a clean, decent hotel for business trips, a normal and nice place.
