A&M Hotel

The room was in very good condition, and they let me check in early because a room was available. They also upgraded it, so overall I had a good experience. The hotel is close to the train station and bus terminal, though a bit farther from the city centre, about a 20-minute walk. I stayed several nights and put up the make-up room sign, but they still didn’t clean the room.

I booked a Queen or King size bed but got two twin beds. I asked whether the restaurant would be open when I arrived and was told yes, but it wasn’t. I’d requested a room near the elevator because of my handicap, yet mine was the farthest away in one of the hotel’s wing buildings. There was no mini bar or in-room coffee, and the fridge was unplugged and warm. My wife also found another woman’s hair on her pillow.

I stayed here in September. Takeaway rubbish was left in the corridor, and my room wasn’t cleaned. When I asked about it, they told me rooms aren’t cleaned until after three days. The shower door didn’t keep the water in, leaving a puddle on the floor. They were happy enough to take payment, though.

The portions are huge for such a low price. My large chicken pita cost just 6 BGN, and the kebab tasted amazing. The staff were really friendly too. It’s only a two-minute walk from the central station.
