Royal Park Hotel - All Inclusive

The lift situation was a nightmare for us on the 8th floor. Only one lift was working in the whole hotel, it holds about 4-5 people before the weight alarm sounds, and waits could reach 20 minutes. That would be especially hard with children or mobility issues. We booked through Love Holidays, but they refused responsibility and told us we should have researched better, despite selling this as a 4-star all-inclusive holiday. The staff apologized, though they seemed instructed not to take complaints further. We were told to come back at 9am, but never got to speak with a manager, only young staff or one older woman who offered no solution. Staff also told us the hotel would close next season, which might explain the lack of upkeep. Things felt rundown and hazardous everywhere. The advertised aquapark has apparently been closed for years, though it still appears in photos. The pool was dirty, the tiles cracked and dangerous, and toilets around the hotel were disgusting. Some had no handles or locks, and there was no toilet paper. The aquapark ice cream stand and pool bar had also been closed for a long time. Food was poor quality and the same each day, with no replenishment once it ran out. The dining area was a free-for-all, with people pushing in. Drinks meant water, warm milk or beer, with no soft drinks. Cereal was available at breakfast, but there were no bowls. We were even served mouldy food. Many guests were very young and mostly French, and I found them extremely rude, pushing ahead for food and lifts and looking at you like you were scum if challenged. This is not a 4-star hotel, and it ruined our week. Basic hygiene and fresh food should be expected. Don't waste your money. I'd give zero stars if I could.

I checked in at 1pm and left by 10pm that same day to find another hotel. There were no soft drinks, no hot water after 9pm, and the air-conditioning didn't work. Three pools had no water, and only one slide was working.

I first visited this resort years ago and came back for a third time, but by July 2025 it had changed badly. The private beach had no bar, umbrellas or loungers, just sand, and the old pontoon was rusty and unsafe, with broken or missing boards. There is no parking on site, so guests have to pay 20 leva a day in Elenite's public lots. The entertainment has dwindled to a few teens, around 16-18, walking around with a speaker and trying to run simple beach games or play children's songs at the amphitheater. The professional shows that used to be in the main building are gone, and that building is locked. Our first day there was no water at all, not even cold water, which seemed to affect the whole hotel. Bar service was poor, mostly handled by interns who spoke little or no English and often seemed to pretend they didn't understand. Drinks were limited to basic fountain Cola, Fanta and Sprite, and those were often out of stock. The beer was watered down, coffee was instant powder from machines, and cocktails and spirits weren't available. The restaurant was chaotic, especially with large groups of children from camps and training programs. We saw very few families or couples. Soups were rarely available, breakfast meant boiled eggs and questionable cold cuts instead of omelets, and all the desserts tasted alike. This used to be a decent holiday spot, but it's now poorly managed, overcrowded and short on amenities, with poor service and food. I wouldn't recommend it at any budget. There are better places for comfort and value.

The beach and sea were the only good parts. We had to change rooms three times because of faults, the pool couldn't be used for days, and there was no air-conditioning. The hotel is in poor repair and seems to have been beautiful a long time ago. What was promised on the booking site wasn't delivered, and the advertising was false. We paid for all-inclusive but I never ate there once. There was hardly any food or drink, not even morning coffee, and what they served was awful. Children with no manners were fighting over the meagre food. The whole hotel felt like a health and safety nightmare. Reception staff did their best to help, and I have no complaint about them, but the stay wasn't worth what we paid. Unless it's very cheap, don't book it.
