Style Place

If comfort and cleanliness matter to you, Style Place is not the place to book. The building is listed as a hotel on Booking, but the receipt calls it a "guest house", and although it apparently has a 3-star license, the tenants don’t mention that it has expired. You can see the lack of comfort as soon as you leave your luggage. The room was dirty, dusty and disgusting, with worn sheets, a blanket marked with dried blood, old furniture and a heavy smell of mothballs and a pensioner’s club. The bed for a person and a half was so bad that folding beds and beach lounger mattresses felt a million times more comfortable. They charge 100 leva a night even though the price list at reception says 95. The terrace was tiny and always in full shade, with a "courtyard view" that meant metal parts in ruins below and people in their underwear on nearby balconies. For sociable guests, there’s an unfenced terrace within arm’s reach, where everyone can wander over for a beer with the obsessively loud tavern music in the background. The tenants told us we’d have to be back by 23:00 if we wanted to sleep. It’s five minutes from the center, but the place is nowhere near the first line, and reaching the beach means climbing 100 stairs each time. After that walk, you can shower under the water heater, provided you finish within two minutes. There isn’t enough hot water for two people, and it takes at least 15-20 minutes to heat again. The bathroom is broken and has nowhere to put your things. We had to take out our own rubbish, walk around in sand because nobody cleans during the stay, and make do with tissues because only one toilet paper was left for three nights. A nice place this isn’t. If you want to feel poverty and misery, go ahead and book!

We’re here on vacation right now, and our hosts’ warm welcome has charmed us. The room is clean and very comfortable, with a wonderful sea view. We’ll definitely return next year!

The beach is just 50 meters away, with plenty of places to eat nearby and the shopping street only meters from the hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, and the staff are kind, responsive and always smiling. Prices are reasonable too. A really pleasant, comfortable place that I highly recommend!

We were helped out with an umbrella after forgetting ours, and the room was cleaned almost every day. We also paid for the final day because we couldn’t check in right away, and that was no problem. A great spot close to South Beach Kiten. I recommend it.
