Stankoff

We had a pleasant stay and liked the place overall. The rooms were fairly spacious, clean and secure, and the balcony had a lovely view of the Black Sea. It would be better if the balconies were more separated from one another. There’s also a second-floor back door onto the back street, which makes it easier to head inland. The owner speaks little English but is fluent in French. Aside from that, they were very accommodating. The air conditioning could be more modern, but it worked, which was a relief in the daytime heat. My dad’s unit stopped working on the first day, but they fixed it straight away. There’s a nice restaurant and bar downstairs where lots of people come for food and drinks in the evening. Service was poor on our last night. Maybe they were tired of us drinking the place dry, or maybe it was just a bad night.

The rooms are on the second and third floors, with no elevator. Wi-Fi is excellent in the public areas but rather poor in the rooms. Don’t expect the towels and sheets to be changed before the fourth day, and even then it’s better to ask. The location is excellent, with large, quiet rooms, good beds and a roomy bathroom. All rooms have a sea view, and parking nearby is cheap with an entry card from the hotel. A door onto the back street gives quick access to the center of Old Nessebar and the shopping area. The owner is very friendly. French is the preferred language for communicating with them, though basic English works too. The continental breakfast is very good.

A lovely little harbor and super nice staff made this a perfect small family hotel. I’d highly recommend the rooms and apartments with balconies and sea views.
