Grand Monastery Apartments

The location is great, right beside the slopes, but the buildings are aging badly. Lots of rooms and apartments belong to private owners, which makes things confusing. The main reception doesn't know much about reservations and can't help when there are problems. Guests also receive communication from Grand Monastery, not from John Doe. Some of the layout choices are awkward. The escalators going up are useful with luggage or skis, but the only way down is on narrow stairs, so you may need to carry everything down several flights. The parking area is too small for the facility as well.

A great place to stay, and so massive you could get lost on your first visit. The location is great, with access straight onto the slopes. The Tavern serves really tasty food and has great service.

An absolute favorite 😍 The accommodation was perfect and very cozy. The kids kept busy with the bowling 🎳, and the ski slopes are right behind the hotel!

The parking was frustrating too. Every spot was taken, so I had to leave the car a few hundred meters away in a public lot. The hotel gave me a parking permit that had to be replaced every two days. There were no sidewalks on the way to the parking area, so I had to walk in the road and hope there wasn't traffic coming. The room itself was dirty and in poor condition. There was dust everywhere, a dead bug splattered on the wall, and the hallways smelled strongly of mold. The bathroom drain was badly clogged, and water and debris, including hair from previous guests, came back up. Neither drain handled water properly, which made showering unpleasant. I reported this several times but nothing was done. We asked to change rooms and were told none were available, even though open rooms were listed on Booking.com. We were also given a different room from the one we'd booked. At reception, staff said no managers were available and they didn't know anything about reservations, so the issue went nowhere. On the first floor, the toilet flushed randomly whenever someone upstairs used theirs. We reported that too, but it was ignored. The beds and pillows were poor quality and so uncomfortable that getting even 20 minutes of uninterrupted sleep felt like an achievement. I was glad I'd brought my own sheets and pillowcases, since the room's cleanliness made me question the hygiene of the bedding provided. This was an extremely disappointing stay, and it affected the whole trip, including the skiing. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
