MPM Hotel Mursalitsa

I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a hotel. The staff were rude, yelling at us and treating us with contempt. When I asked if we could pay to use the spa, pool, or have breakfast, the managers said no, those were only for hotel guests, with an ironic nod. I didn’t know a hotel could turn down an offer to pay for breakfast. I thought hospitality was the point. Thankfully, the staff at the hotel next door, ‘Bellevue’, kindly let us have breakfast and use their hotel services even though we weren’t their guests.

The restaurant buffet had a good range of food, though there weren’t enough seats. People had to wait for tables, and some were moved to smaller ones to make room for others. The rooms were comfortable and warm enough in winter. There’s a small spa, but the pool felt cold.

The location is amazing, with lots of places to visit nearby, and the staff were really kind and friendly. Lunch was the weak point: the hotel doesn’t offer it itself, so you have to go to the garden BBQ, which is part of the hotel but has limited choices. The pool was a bit dirty, and shower water sometimes turned cold. Still, it was a good stay.

The lobby was cozy, breakfast was good, and the staff were very friendly. But the room problems made it hard to sleep: it wasn’t cleaned properly, the toilet flush stopped working, and spotlights shone straight into the room even with the curtains shut. The heat was unbearable too. The pool wasn’t clean either. The water smelled like pee, and we came across random hairs while swimming.
