Kamengrad Hotel & SPA

We had a small family getaway, and the pools, spa, hotel facilities, and food were all excellent. The dishes were delicious and there was a great variety. What spoiled things was the hot water in the rooms stopping at some point, even though it was an ordinary weekend and the hotel wasn't full. The staff didn't seem concerned, offer an apology, or explain whether something unexpected had happened. That didn't feel acceptable for a four-star spa hotel.

The pool area was a highlight, with several outdoor pools, including one that was warm. Breakfast and dinner were both very good, our room was clean and quiet despite facing the main square, and the receptionist was kind when we arrived. We had a nice stay, though there were issues that need attention. The door wouldn't shut properly, apparently because it was old, but fiddling with the lock fixed it. The second person showering ran out of warm water, the shower flooded a bit, and brown water came out when we flushed the toilet. Dinner service was the worst part. One staff member didn't greet us or explain how things worked, and never checked whether we wanted drinks. When I went to ask, she was extremely rude to me and to the receptionist, who was helping translate. It was so unacceptable that I considered cancelling our second night.

Right in the center of Panagyurishte, the place was still very peaceful. The rooms were modern and roomy, and the spa was high end. The food was delicious too.

The warm pool was good, and the spa was fine. Kids had great activities, and the staff were polite. It's also in a great location, just five minutes from the main tourist sights. The food was average, our room was dusty and not clean enough, and the shared areas in the hotel were cold. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5.
