Hotel Sofia - All Inclusive

By the end, this felt more like a nightmare than a holiday. The second room was clean, but its so-called double bed was two single beds that slid around at night. On the balcony there was a table, two broken plastic chairs, and a rusty clothes rack. The bathroom was clean, but the shower sat straight on the floor with no tub, and water flooded out. The floor drain didn't help. I gave up trying to eat after the first day. The meat was undercooked and there wasn't much to choose from. One elevator closed on me because it had no sensors, and my phone nearly fell into the gap between the elevator and the floor. In the first room, things looked clean at first, but we spotted two tiny bugs on the bed. I think they may have been carpet bugs, though I'm not sure. The smell was strong, and the old central ventilation barely worked. The bathroom was small, the shower seal had several gaps, and there was a huge cobweb in the corner. I told the manager about the bugs, but she brushed it off, saying, “The bug was not what you thought.” Whatever kind it was, it was still a bug. I've attached some photos for reference.

Sedef and Yanislav at reception did a great job. There were lots of people with different problems, and they handled everything so well. They're the sweetest, and I wanted to say so here. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean. It's the first place that's really made me feel at home.

The beach is a 10-12 minute walk away. From arrival, though, things went badly. I was charged a very high parking fine, even though people park two or three cars in one space because there isn't enough room. Our room had visible problems: the Wi-Fi didn't work, the beds tilted to one side, and the balcony railings were faulty. Staff didn't fix anything when I raised it. They said these weren't real problems and I should just put up with them. I don't recommend it at all, 1/10.

Our room was clean, but the balcony's sea view was unattractive, squeezed between two hotels. The food was poor quality with very few choices, and meat was missing from lunch. The private beach was quite a way off, though it was nice. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
