The room was very good, and the hotel is right in the center beside the ancient theater. The staff were friendly and helped me a lot by calling a taxi.

I’d stay at Agora Club again when I’m next in Filipoupoli. It’s a quiet, safe area with lots of trees, and there are two large supermarkets nearby: Leksi is a five-minute walk and Billa takes about 12 minutes. The city center is around 10 minutes away, though the walk takes longer because you have to use the underground zebra crossings. There aren’t zebra crossings on the main streets in Filipoupoli. The room is on the ground floor, spacious and warm even in winter, with a comfortable sofa. There’s no balcony. The bathroom is roomy and very clean, and we opened its window to keep the room fresh. The bed was softer than I like, though that’s just my preference. Parking costs 5 leva a day, which was the cheapest we found. There’s no free street parking in Filipoupoli, so we left the car there and walked everywhere. It’s four blocks from the house but an easy walk. The woman on staff was very polite and spoke English. She gave us extra toilet paper and rubbish bags when we asked. The walls are really thin, so you can hear everything. Right now there’s a family in the next room whose child cries ALL the time, and we haven’t been able to get proper rest. 😭 The hall of the Agora Club and the ground-floor corridor also smell strongly of cigarettes. There are offices along the corridor, and the employees smoke inside, so the smoke gets into the premises. I wonder whether Bulgaria has a no-smoking policy for buildings yet.

The two women who work here are amazing, always polite, saying good morning and happy to help. We arrived very late, but they left the keys so we could get in and get some sleep. Cleaning is always up to a high standard, and they’re there if you need anything. The center is about a 10-minute walk away. I’ve booked this hotel twice and they haven’t let me down. A big thank you to them, I’ll definitely stay again and recommend the place.
