Hotel Capri

The location worked well for the activities we had planned in Plovdiv, and that was the best thing about this hotel. We booked for three through booking.com, but the third place to sleep was a small pull-out couch. At 180cm tall, I had to lie diagonally on it, and there was no mattress. The hard edge of the couch base pressed into the middle of my lower back, so I couldn't get comfortable and woke up more tired than before bed. We asked the cleaning staff and the front desk for something to cover it, but were told, "that's just how the couch is," and nothing was brought. The sheets were another problem. All three of us got cover sheets no more than 1m wide, too small to cover a normal person unless you slept without moving. They also looked like they had old blood stains and hadn't been cleaned properly. There were other signs of wear too: the toilet seat wasn't properly bolted down, the old doors had big gaps, and there were holes in the floors. Photos provided.

The mattress, bedsheet, and duvet were dirty. Parking was bad, and the area felt sketchy. Very bad overall, I don't recommend it.

The area is green and pleasant, though the balcony view isn't much: there's another building directly in front, the Mall to the left, and a construction site on the right. I did miss having an iron in the room. Still, I liked my stay. The place was clean, the staff polite, and it's fairly close to the center. There are a few parking spots in front of the hotel, and the price felt fair for the quality.

The bathroom was clean, and this is a good option for a short stay in Plovdiv. My room faced the street, though, and could be noisy if you're used to sleeping somewhere quiet. A few things could be better. There was dust on the bedside cabinet, no hangers for clothes or bags, and no sockets by the bed for chargers. The TV could be better too, and the remote batteries should be checked. The desk fits a laptop but is very small, and the short chair is only useful for resting your feet if you sit on the bed.
