Hotel Chiirite

Not great, but not too bad either. For a single night, it’ll do :-)

The room was lovely and the bed was really comfortable, so I had no complaints about either. Getting help from the staff was less reliable: on a couple of occasions I needed someone, but nobody was at reception, despite it being a 24-hour desk. Breakfast also had very little choice. I was in town for friends’ wedding and stayed here because they recommended it and many of the guests were booked in. The hotel is outside the town centre, so you’ll need a car or a taxi, though there was parking on site. Check-in was frustrating. I arrived with a Bulgarian friend who was checking in separately, and the receptionist got into a long conversation with her. I was exhausted and waited ages for my key because interrupting felt rude. In hindsight, I probably should have spoken up.

Breakfast was good and included, and the staff were friendly. It’s handy for Plovdiv airport, with free parking too. The room was clean and great, and the bed was ridiculously comfortable!

We paid £94 for two rooms with breakfast, which felt like very good value for this standard. Breakfast was delicious, and we chose the English option from around seven choices. Service was excellent. We landed at Plovdiv airport on the evening of 18.08.17 and picked the hotel for a convenient overnight stop, just a short drive away. We’re a family of four and have travelled widely. The staff were all polite and courteous, and spoke good English. Both rooms were immaculate and spacious, with lovely decor and air conditioning. Highly recommended.
