Sunset Resort

Even with the chilly weather, we had plenty to enjoy indoors, especially the pools and spa. The buffet food tasted good, the drinks were decent, and there were lots of places to choose from for food and drinks in this huge, almost city-like hotel. The building itself is luxurious, spacious, and spotless, and the staff were polite and helpful. We’d definitely come back.

The hotel looks beautiful, like it belongs in a movie, but that was the best part for us. The kids’ entertainment was good, though the bowling alley and pool tables were booked both times we tried them. There were black bits in the children’s pool. Some reception staff were rude, while the bar staff were really nice, and staff generally didn’t seem to speak much English. The food wasn’t great and there wasn’t much variety, with many restaurants closed. Seafood may suit you. The surrounding area wasn’t great either, with little to do beyond the beach and a water park that’s good for a day trip.

The grounds around the two clean pools and bars are huge, and the venue has several bars for different all-inclusive levels. It’s right by the beach and has enormous facilities. Still, I wouldn’t choose somewhere this big for a family holiday unless you’re comfortable with the kids possibly getting lost. 8/10.

The hotel facilities were great, but the food was basic and repetitive, and the drinks were rubbish. Staff were very blunt with their yeses and nos, though I think that may be cultural. I’d have given it five stars if the food and especially the drinks had been better, if all the restaurants had been open, and if there weren’t that strange system where some bars couldn’t be used. Still, it was a great holiday.
