Sunrise Primorsko

The food had plenty of choices, was well cooked, and tasted good. The pool and dining area were clean and comfortable. My family and I were looking for a decent hotel in Primorsko and were glad to find Hotel Sunrise. Our room was in an underground apartment, and it had a mold-like smell with no Wi-Fi at all. Apart from that, it was nicely designed and refurbished. I’d recommend the hotel.

The hygiene at Hotel Sunrise was awful. Our apartment was dirty throughout, the kitchenette doors were broken, and black mold covered the bathroom. The garden looked neglected as well: there was a broken step and iron rods sticking out dangerously from the kids’ pool. The hot tub looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Maintenance was clearly lacking in both the rooms and shared areas. The staff were rude and unhelpful. While we were eating, waiters kept asking whether we had paid for breakfast, which was embarrassing and unprofessional. The bartender didn’t seem to know how to make basic cocktails, and the bar was cluttered with empty bottles, as if they were being used to fill spaces between the few full ones. The stay was unacceptable, and I strongly advise against Hotel Sunrise.

We were already on our way and close to the hotel when they called, just an hour before check-in, to say they had overbooked by mistake and had no room for us. We’d booked through booking and were looking forward to a relaxing SPA holiday, even though it cost more. They offered to find us a room at some random nearby place. They also said bookings through booking.com are handled somewhere else, not directly by the hotel, so I suspect ours wasn’t the only case. Communication was completely lacking. We still don’t understand how they only noticed the double booking an hour before check-in. They ruined our weekend.

The rooms are amazing, and the food was great. Huge applause for the cooks and chefs! But I hated how a man kept telling us we couldn’t enter the restaurant. My friends and I went in at 19:17, and he said we couldn’t come in “after 10 minutes.” We came back at 19:27 and he still wouldn’t let us in. He was so rude to us. The service otherwise wasn’t so bad, and the location is amazing, really close to South Beach. From children in the Sunrise hotel
