Rila Hotel Borovets

The lobby had a lively feel in the evenings, with music and DJ performances, and the lobby bar was great. Staff weren’t especially smiley, though that’s common in Bulgaria and didn’t seem specific to this hotel. We found the rooms comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good; we skipped the hotel dinner and tried other restaurants instead. For skiing, the location is hard to beat: Hotel Rila is right at the start of the ski area, with the lifts directly in front, so it’s genuinely ski-in ski-out. You can buy ski passes inside and use the dedicated ski room. If you rent equipment from Boro Sports, you can store it at the hotel for free. For a ski-focused stay in Borovets, it’s a reliable choice.

The kids’ club was a real highlight of our trip. Eli and Stefi were so kind, patient, energetic and caring with the children. From the first day, the kids felt welcome and safe, and were excited to go back. A huge thank you to both of them for making our stay so wonderful.

The hotel felt welcoming and relaxed, and the rooms were comfortable, clean and warm after a day in the mountains. Meals were a real part of the experience: breakfast and dinner both offered lots of choice, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. For skiing, the location makes things so easy. The slopes and lifts are right across from Rila Hotel Borovets, so you can walk out, put on your skis and go. Everything about our stay went smoothly and exceeded expectations. I’d absolutely recommend it for a ski trip.

The beds were among the most comfortable I’ve slept in, though I know that’s personal. Rooms were cleaned every day, and the restaurant service was great. Breakfast and dinner had plenty of options. It’s a great place to return to after spending most of the day skiing or snowboarding, with proper ski-in, ski-out access. I just wish the jacuzzi were hotter.
