Family Hotel Saint George

This was our second visit, and we liked it enough to add two more nights. The owner was exceptionally polite and nice, and fitted us in at very short notice. Our room was cozy and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The one downside was construction of bungalows behind the hotel, which spoils the view. Two boxers also barked all night and into the morning, so sleeping with the window open was impossible.

We stayed for several weeks and loved looking out at the forest. A good hotel, with a relaxed, friendly owner.

The room was lovely, with comfortable beds, a working TV and air conditioner, a spacious modern bathroom, and a nice balcony. The staff were pleasant too. There weren’t enough electric sockets, though, and the hotel is at the end of a very uneven, quiet street. There’s no elevator either. Still, we had a great stay.

We booked a double room for six nights but left after just one because it was unlivable. It looked as if nobody had cleaned after the previous guests: dust everywhere, pillows smelling of women’s perfume, sand and toothpaste in the bathroom, and fingerprints on all the furniture. Half the blinds were missing and some lights didn’t work. When we raised it with the woman at reception, she was patronising and impolite. She insisted everything was fine, denied the problem and offered neither a cleaning nor another room. After we said we wanted to leave, she marked us as "no-show" on the booking site, so we couldn’t leave a review. I believe that may be why the rating is higher. I strongly recommend staying away, as this could ruin your vacation.
