Best Western Plus Bristol Hotel

The location is the hotel's one big plus, right in the center. The rest was a letdown. Breakfast had little variety and no options at all for vegans or people who are lactose intolerant or celiac. The welcome from staff wasn't much better. They often seemed distracted and unwilling to help, which isn't what you'd hope for when paying decent money. The rooms were dated and poorly cleaned. Stained carpet was everywhere, and it smelled awful. The quality really doesn't match the price.

The front desk team made this stay stand out. Stanislaw, Emo, Stefan, and Juli were warm, professional, patient, and always ready to help. They tracked a delayed shipment for me and kept another package safe for several days until I arrived. They also gave me useful advice on getting around, local transport, places to eat and visit, and plenty of practical tips. They knew the local culture and hidden gems well, and helped me find several specialty shops I was looking for. Stanislaw also recommended a book with brilliant humor. I loved it, finished it right away, and am now reading the rest of the series!

We booked based on the reviews, with two adults and two children listed, but there were no beds set up for the kids. They didn't help us at first, and it was too late to go elsewhere, so we had to stay in the room. I paid €10 for parking, but the car was left in front of the hotel all night. They did help us later, and breakfast was adequate.

The rooms were large, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with tea and coffee facilities, a safe, and a minibar. Staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good. The hotel is also well located, a short walk from Serdika metro station, the main attractions, and Sofia shopping mall.
