Darling Hotel

They gave us a very good discount on the room, and the price was great. The staff were friendly, the sheets and towels were clean, and the room was warm, so it worked well for a night. The only issue was a very strong cigarette smell in the room. Thank you, Darling ☺️

The pizzas here are fantastic, with great quality and the best size for the price around. The staff are welcoming and extremely friendly, and the rooms have lots of space, with comfortable beds and pillows. It's also a lovely location, close to public transport that connects to the route up Mount Vitosha. You can walk up the roads and be on the mountain in under 10 minutes. In winter, skiing and snowboarding are available at the top of Mount Vitosha, while your lodging stays close and comfortable.

Some rooms have an amazing view, especially at night. For the price, this is a very reasonable place to stay in Sofia. You get a bed to sleep in and not a whole lot more, but it's nice.

The mattresses are a gamble. Some are good, while others feel like there's no mattress at all and you're sleeping on a wooden bed. Three stars feels rather generous. Before Darling Hotel, I spent two weeks at Vitosha Tulip Hotel. The basics are covered and the hotel is alright: it's clean, and the rooms are average-sized, with some even having double beds. The showers share the space with the toilets, though, so after showering you have to wait for the floor to dry before using the bathroom again. The interior is basic and cheap-looking, and it clearly hasn't been renovated in a while.
