Elegance Hostel and Guesthouse

For an affordable, convenient place to stop for a night, I think this room is worth it. The shared bathroom and communal kitchen are as expected, and the host is an amazing, accommodating person. He doesn’t speak English, but he really tries to help. My heater didn’t work, and the air conditioning wasn’t very strong in the winter cold. The rooms are just okay, though for my one-night stay that was fine. Don’t be put off by the Google reviews if you’re after a budget-friendly location.

The room and shared kitchen were quite clean, and for the price and the last-minute booking I was satisfied. The host was very nice and took us in at the last moment. It’s a small room with a bed, a little table, two chairs and a closet we didn’t use. The shared toilet and shower were really odd and cramped, but we managed and it ended up being fine for us.

It’s an affordable, safe place with good heating. The room was clean enough. I was on my own, so the slightly cracked side of the double bed was okay. I stayed in the extra building, where there’s no access to the lounge, and the tiny toilet and shower are shared with other people. You can’t use the toilet while someone is showering or shaving.

Being close to Sofia’s centre is nice, and the price is good. Honestly, those are about the only good things. We didn’t feel comfortable there, and I’d spend a bit more for somewhere nicer if possible. The bathroom is cramped and really needs more cleaning. The bed was ridiculously noisy. I couldn’t change sleeping position without disturbing my sleep, and even lying down made it sound like the bed might break. The man running the place says on booking sites that he speaks English, but he doesn’t. If you can’t pay more, you get what you pay for, which isn’t much.
