Hotel Geneva

The staff were incredibly helpful, and the facilities were exceptional. It made a great base for my visit to Sofia. When I come back, this will definitely be my first choice.

The rooms were clean and pleasant, and breakfast in the morning was very good. The staff were kind, nice to deal with, and always ready to help. Parking can be an issue, though there’s usually free street parking next to the hotel.

We came from the UK for a long weekend and stayed from Friday to Monday in March 2025. The hotel is handy for getting around, about a 3-minute walk to the tram and 8 minutes to the metro, which goes all over the city. But I’d rate it 2 or 3 stars, not 4. The rooms look very old, though they were clean and tidy. There was a strange smell around the hotel, with a strong smell of smoke at one point. Breakfast was awful, with hardly any choice and poor quality food. The breakfast room is so small it gets busy, so get there early if you want a chair. The bar closes at 17, which makes no sense for a bar, and the sauna and jacuzzi were out of order. I’d only suggest staying here if you need a cheap place to sleep. I care about comfort and a decent breakfast, so if I return to Sofia I’ll choose another hotel.

The room was quiet and very clean, with everything we needed. The location was practical for getting around the city, and anything we asked for was brought within seconds, with our questions answered. There was a wide range of breakfast options. One of my best hotel stays in Europe.
