Ibis Sofia Airport

A convenient choice near the airport, with an airport transfer included. The mattress wasn’t very comfortable, but there were free drinks in the hallway and we got a grab-and-go breakfast. Highly recommend it.

If you’re expecting a spa resort, this isn’t it. The room is tiny, the TV channels are limited, and there’s no curb appeal. But the WiFi worked fine, the price was more than fair, and the room was clean. The airport shuttle was quick, efficient, easy to connect with, and prompt, and the staff were friendly. And the shower? The BEST SHOWER WE HAD IN BULGARIA. Steaming hot, with better pressure than at home. I’d stay again in a heartbeat and recommend it, unless you’re expecting a spa resort. I’d seen some negative reviews and honestly don’t know what people expect from an airport hotel. Complaining about the view? Seriously?

Breakfast had plenty of choice and was easy to sort out, and the hotel arranged a free shuttle to the very nearby airport. We also had dinner there, which was surprisingly good, reasonably priced, and had a decent menu for an airport hotel. They even put the football on at the bar for my partner. The staff were lovely and helpful. They stored our luggage, and the receptionist recommended a great video for our free time the next day. That gave us the idea to head into the capital for some quick sightseeing 😂 Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was a bit warm when we arrived, but opening the window fixed that quickly. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was excellent after travelling. We’d been a little apprehensive because the reviews were mixed, and can’t understand why the hotel had bad reviews before. Our stay was fantastic, smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. We’d absolutely recommend it and wouldn’t hesitate to return. 👍

A breakfast snack had been prepared for me without me asking, which really touched me. I was leaving for the airport at 4:30 AM, so that kind of care was unexpected, even at an airport hotel. The night receptionist also made sure I woke up at 4:00 AM, a detail that matters before an early flight. I had a great stay and want to thank the whole team for being kind and professional. The receptionist gave me useful tips right away that made it easy to see the Giro d’Italia finish in Sofia, a real highlight of my trip. The restaurant was a lovely surprise too, with smiling, welcoming staff and delicious food. The free shuttle between the two airport terminals runs every 20 minutes, which was very convenient. Many thanks to everyone. I highly recommend the hotel for its warm welcome, comfort, and care.
