The location was a real plus: about five minutes from Serdika metro station and close to the Banya Bashi Mosque (16th century) and the Serdika Archaeological ruins. The apartment was clean, and free parking was included, with the option to leave the car there after checkout. The main problem was the bedroom air conditioning not working. With no ventilation, the room became stuffy and uncomfortable, and I had trouble sleeping. The manager said the kitchen AC should cool the whole apartment, but it barely cooled the kitchen even when set to 17 degrees. There was no electric fan, which felt like a serious omission in a place with no windows. Even at 15 degrees it was too warm, so I can only imagine how it would be in hotter months. The owners really need to make sure the AC units work properly. Noise was another issue. The soundproofing was poor, and neighbours were loud until 4 am. I also found it unhygienic that the toilet was placed right inside the shower cubicle.

The bedroom window faced some sort of shaft rather than the street, so I couldn't tell whether it was day or night, or what the weather was like. Apart from that, the small apartment had everything I needed: a separate bedroom with a double bed and TV, a shower room and toilet, plus a kitchen with a fridge, TV, sofa, electric stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware, plates, cups, spoons, forks and knives.
