Camping Goldfish

The beach was lovely, and it was nice spending time with family and friends. That’s where the good part ended for me. The campsite felt disorganized, with many shady spots taken up by caravans that stay there permanently. There was no hot water after 18:00. It might come back after 20:00, depending on how long the bathroom queue is, and four shower stalls aren’t enough in high season. The bathrooms need access chips, but if you hold the door for a child or friend, the janitor shouts rudely. The bathrooms and the bins inside each stall could be cleaner too, though I tried to overlook that. Power from the diesel generators stopped at 12:30 AM and didn’t come back until 8:00 AM. They were noisy, and there was pollution as well. A shop was there, but when it was just opening on 15 July, most items had no prices, so they weren’t selling many things. For these prices, I don’t think it’s worth staying in a tent, caravan, or camper. The beach is great, the other holidaymakers were nice, mostly families with kids, and pets are allowed. Be cautious if you decide to stay. There are much better campsites with better service for less.

I love this place. It’s great with kids, the water and beach are clean, and since it’s in a bay the waves stay small. There are a few bars right on the beach, but it never gets too noisy.

The staff are friendly, and the beach is fairly close. But the prices are well above the Bulgarian average, and there’s only one sanitary block for the whole site: four showers and four toilets for each gender, plus a single cassette disposal point. There’s no kitchen, fridge, or laundry facility. The site is poorly lit, electricity can cut out during the night, and the noise rules aren’t followed.

The sand isn’t that good, but the sea stays calm even when there are big waves at Harmaniti, which is the beach’s main draw. There’s free parking about 50 metres beyond the commercial parking area, near the bus stop.
