Duni Royal Marina Beach - All Inclusive

The food raised serious hygiene concerns for us: we found moldy bread and watermelon that tasted sour and fermented, which felt like a health risk for families. The juices and soft drinks were sugary, low-quality drinks from dispensers too. Service was also awful. In heavy rain, staff refused to help us get our small child to the car in the far lot. For a five-star resort, that lack of empathy was shocking. We stayed at Marina Beach and came away very disappointed. It feels like the resort is relying on its old reputation while the service and food have fallen to three-star quality. Prices are premium, but the catering is cheap and unsafe. We won't return and can't recommend it.

It was good enough.

The room's cleanliness was the best part: the cleaning lady came every day and did a flawless job. The aqua park was acceptable for size and variety, including a section for small children, but the children's pool water was so cold it was hard for them to use. Beyond that, the stay at Hotel Marina Beach fell short of what Duni Royal Resort's name suggests. The furniture and finishes were very old and worn, and the bathroom was especially dated and unattractive. The main pool also looked old and unkempt, and the pool bar was completely dismantled, taking away from comfort and the holiday feel. Food was a letdown too. The buffet had little variety and was nearly the same and tasteless over our seven days in August. The snack bar offered only a few poor-quality cookies, nothing appetizing. Food and facilities felt below the standard of other resorts in Bulgaria. Entertainment didn't make up for it: no standout activities, memorable moments, or special events to justify the price. I wouldn't recommend it if you're after quality and variety for the money.

The food has become monotonous, with a much smaller selection, and the coffee and juices are overly sweet. The whole hotel seems to be going downhill, from room service to guest care. Cleaning seems limited to taking out the trash. We found cockroaches in the rooms and bathroom tiles crumbling. You have to ask someone to clean, but nobody speaks English.
