The host is friendly, and the location is great, with a lovely balcony view. There is noise from the central street, though, and performances go on late into the night.

The owner was so suspicious and unpleasant that my husband now refuses to set foot on the Black Sea coast. She would hear us on the stairs and come out to listen. Once, she scolded us for supposedly bringing someone along, though we hadn’t brought anyone. The kitchen cupboards in the apartment we rented were chained up, which looked like something out of a prison and was awful to see. Checkout was at 12:00, but she came to hassle us to leave early because people were waiting. She scolded us for being late even though it wasn’t yet 12:00. This kind of suspicious, greedy Sozopol auntie or grandmother really gets in the way of tourism and the town’s general atmosphere. I’d never put up with that again. If you book, do it through Booking. The people involved know you can leave them a bad review, and then they act at least servilely, if not politely, and are less unpleasant.
