Burgas Beach

We had to wait six hours for our rooms, but spent that time by the pool. Once we got in, the rooms were really nice, and the view from the window was lovely. The food was tasty too. It was a really good experience seeing this hotel during our summer trip.

The location is the main draw, right on what I think is Bulgaria's nicest beach. If you aren't too demanding and don't mind paying more than the place seems worth, you might be happy here. Otherwise, the overpriced stay and poor food and service could leave you disappointed.

We paid £4300 for what turned into the worst holiday. The food was terrible, the pool bar service was very bad, and my kids struggled to eat, so we had to eat out every day. The toilet fan in our room never worked during our 10 days there, and the smell kept us from sleeping. We were told it was all inclusive, but still had to pay for towels and sunbeds by the sea, which weren't included. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in. Please don't use it.

The location is hard to beat, right by the beach, and the all-inclusive facilities are very good. The lifts, though, are a joke: there are only four for a 19-floor hotel, each holding seven people, so you spend ages waiting. They may already be full or go straight past your floor. The WiFi is terrible too, unsecured and basically a hotspot that gets overwhelmed all the time.
