Hrizantema- All Inclusive Hotel

The meals were delicious, so thanks to the chefs. The animation team were friendly and worked hard, and Radion and Arseniy made fantastic cocktails. I especially recommend the Piña Colada, it’s incredible here. The atmosphere was great!

Hrizantema Hotel was clean, set in a beautiful area, and the staff were consistently kind and helpful. It felt like good value for the price, and we’d come back. We were impressed by the all-inclusive food. Breakfast had a rich selection, lunch was fresh and tasty, and there were snacks and desserts between meals. Dinner was a highlight, with plenty of choices including grilled meat, salads and local dishes. The cocktails were surprisingly good for an all-inclusive place, and the alcohol wasn’t watered down like it can be elsewhere.

The only good thing about this hotel was its location. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, and this was easily the worst. We arrived late to cheeky, rude staff who offered no information, and we even had to ask for our all-inclusive bands. The rooms were awful, and the pool area was filthy. Pizza at the pool bar was left out with flies crawling over it. The bar staff were rude whenever we asked for something, looking us up and down. The drinks were all horrible, I didn’t have a single one I liked. The food was poor, the same every day, with very few healthy choices. At lunch and dinner people were crowded on top of each other. The hotel is badly managed, and the food handling was unhygienic. There were also rude Bulgarian guests who bumped into us and our children without caring. We had a horrible time at the kip and I’d never return. The hotel badly needs new staff and management.

The room was large and clean, the air conditioning worked well, and our housekeeper cleaned it daily with care. The pool itself was clean, and the location was excellent, with everything nearby. Still, the stay was disappointing in many ways, and we wouldn’t return or recommend it. There was very little order around the hotel. People smoked everywhere despite the marked smoking areas, including by the pool and in common spaces. Even the lifeguards smoked constantly. Our kids ended up breathing in a year’s worth of secondhand smoke in one week. Pool loungers were almost impossible to find because people saved them with towels or clothes, sometimes from the night before. Staff didn’t clear them or enforce any rules. Drinks, tea and desserts came in disposable plastic cups, with plastic straws and spoons. The amount of plastic seemed careless and outdated. Quiet hours were said to start at 10 PM, but guests shouted and sang by the pool past midnight, at times until 1 or 2 AM, while staff did nothing. Wi-Fi was so slow and unreliable that basic social media apps barely loaded, in the room and in shared areas. At reception we got no welcome, map or directions, just a room key. When we asked for help, the answer was impatient. Three young blonde women at the desk seemed more interested in joking with each other than assisting guests. On our final day, we asked whether we could pay for a late checkout and were bluntly told no. We then asked if the kids could at least have a quick shower before leaving. The receptionist said, “We don’t care, you’re no longer our guests.” It was shockingly rude and unprofessional. The evening shows were weak, like an amateur student performance. As far as we understood, the animation program was shared between two hotels, which made it feel even more disorganized. The food hardly changed from one day to the next. Signs said not to take food out of the restaurant, but guests left with full plates and bags, even stuffing desserts into their pockets, and staff didn’t intervene. By dessert time, most of it was gone. The hotel has potential, but poor management, staff who seem untrained, little respect for guests and a general lack of order and hospitality let it down badly.
